We interrupt your regularly scheduled comic strip
Ladies and Gentleman, thank you for attending this blog post.

Skeeve and Eyeball have asked me to make the following announcement:

Torn from real life has suspended it's campaign of hilarity until this internet connectivity crisis has abated.

Thank you and goodnight and god bless TKOP.

Citizen Zero: A Friday Five Blog
So, in place of the five this week I'd like to write a short blog. I have some things I've been thinking about that I feel might become clearer if I try to write them down. Well, one thing really. And that is this: I'm 30. I've accomplished nothing of what I told myself I would do in my 20's. That isn't necessarily a complaint, because what I have accomplished in place of what I thought I might do is quite extraordinary and mostly fulfilling. But, I'm incredibly tired you see? I'm tired of gaming and I'm tired of sci-fi movie marathons and going bowling and playing music alone. I'm tired of the routines of work and play that I've constructed for myself over the last ten years. I don't want to be someone else, I just want to try new things, and have the time to invest in them in spite of that which I'm accustomed to doing. I want to reinvest in myself, get into shape physically, emotionally and spiritually and no longer feel stuck because certain people I hang out with only ever want to do the same thing and I'm tired of that thing but not, necessarily, of seeing and being with those people... not that I can ever think of anything else to do, but that's just it: I'm creatively void, lacking imagination and the wherewithal to act spontaneously without remorse of one kind or another. When did that happen?

Where did I go in my 20's?

Can I find him and resurrect him for the next 10 years?

#35: The Man in Black

I finally came up with a name for "Not Clyde". Yes he knows what the kanji on his shirt means. No, he doesn't realize that when he styles his hair like that, he sort of looks like Wolverine.

I'm too sexy for my DVD.

He's the Answer to the Great Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything!
I tend to struggle for blog topics, but this week's writes itself. It's a red-letter day - not just because I don't have to struggle to think of what to write about, but because today is Skeeve's birthday!

Happy birthday, O Illustrious wizard, ye fearless leader who has given so much of the years we today celebrate in order to conceive of and implement the marvelous community of which we all are! I've only been party to the last 8, but I hope that you have just as many again as already are under your belt, and that they are every bit as much fun.

Huzzah!

This Week in TKOP
Last week's links:

  • Ever sent a drunk email that you regret the morning after? Google Labs has the answer for you.

  • The Eyeball of the Undead brings us an interesting trash bin.

  • seuratt would like to show you this interesting video of Sydney harbor, using techniques that make the harbor look like a bathtub.

  • Skeeve related a story about Connecticut legalizing gay marriage. (Against gay marriage? Don't marry one!)

  • Last but not least, a Battlestar Galactica casemod.

And that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Zero's Friday Five
It's election time in the good ol' USA. And with only a few weeks to go until we all cast our votes for the proverbial "next guy", I thought it was time for The Five to get political...

...but, then it was brought to my attention that Skeeve went and started a band without asking me to be in it. Yes, the 3-piece outfit otherwise known as Dogsbody does rock, of this I have no doubt, but what the hell?! So, this week, my wrath seems to be entirely focused on Skeeve's new band...

...but, then it was brought to my attention that Zung feeds Wormhorn his dingleberries.

I digress.

This week: The Top 5 Reasons You Should Support Dogsbody!

1. They Have A Cool Name - It's a little morbid and curious. What's not to like?

2. Their Combined Weight is Likely Over 1000lbs. - I don't say it to be rude, I say it because fat guy bands ROCK BALLS. Does no one but me remember the glorious sounds of Screaming Trees, Blues Traveler (before the lipo), Pantera, or N'Sync?!

3. Into Exile With You! - Skeeve is the king of TKOP. If you don't support his band, he will have you executed or sent to a lame BBS/Online Forum... one without me!

4. Southern Justice - This sort of ties in with #3, but IsisUptown has a banjo and a drawl. I don't think I need to say anymore if you've seen Deliverance.

5. Zung Feeds Wormhorn His Dingleberries - Seriously, dude. What is up with that?!

In all seriousness, I'm crazy psyched to hear Dogsbody live and in person. It's about time we had our own house band. So, let us know when the gigs are, Skeeverino! I'll throw my panties on stage for you!

#33: Taking Things Slow

Hey TKOPers...where all the blogs at, yo!

Joe gets most of the writing credit for this one (including tweaking the above snarky comment)...but the spit-take was my idea. :)
