Play the Game
My throat is dry My mouth parched as the Sahara As the Gobi or maybe Death Valley My tongue lies thickly A stupid snake too lazy to move Your eyes are on mine Piercing, searching, waiting expectantly I know what I want to say Not how to say it Flippant words run away Teases all, I grab at them I miss I lost my voice Where is it hiding? Not under my chair Not in my book Hide-and-Go-Seek, winner gets a prize I must seem stupid to you Tilt back, count the dots on the ceiling But skip the ones on the watermark Watermark? Desert? Oasis!! There's that elusive voice Jammed in the moist sticky gum under the desk I state my answer loud and clear Ringing triumphant I win this one - you lose I'm not your foolish jester He's in your deck of cards Until next time When I'm called on again.

Moving day... Redux.
Ok, yeah... I'm going to be putting all my stuff in little boxes again. I look at it as a game. See how much stuff I have based on the number of boxes.
Interesting to think that 3 years ago I posted about moving... And here I am posting about it again.
Facinating to me that TKOP has now survived the many changes of my (And likely your) adult lives. Think about where you were in 1990... (We began in jan of that year, the betatests were in Dec...) And what the mid 90's did... Where did you go from there? And after? Where where you at the year 2000?
I could NOT have expected my place here 18 years ago... I am in such a different place now, and I know that many of my good friends, people I met on delicate electronic wires, are too. I have made lasting friendships fromthis medium, which many people always had to "warn" me about. Something tells me those that wanred me did not know the people in the 518 BBS community.
And now that we've been online for 4 years, we've met and held onto people here on the intarwebz. We welcome new users here and there but the community seems to stay sort of "small town" (Small web?)
I thank ALL of you. Each of you has contributed in some way, great or small.

How We Enter
We kick and scream Slide and turn Into the widening gyre of our place in the world; We lurch and learn Grow and dream Till come dangers and frightments unfurled. Sweetness destroyed Lament the chaff But see the circle renew we must: With baby's laugh Eyes full of joy In perfect love, and perfect trust.

Everything happens for a reason:
Do you say this? Stop it.
Can I tell you the number of times I have heard this in my life... (My own grandmother used to say something similar "Never a door closes but a window opens"... Wait, maybe she was just senile...)
So, last week, when the sellers of the house we wanted at the time didn't accept our offer... (Or even CLOSE to it) we heard this from alot of people. "That's ok! Somethings going to come along and make you glad you didn't get that house!" Yeah, right, whatever, %*^#ers.
Except? They were right. Dead on. This weekend we saw it. THE house. The one we have been waiting for. With room for us and the kids. A barn for storage/studiospace and perhaps even a spot to park the cars... ; )
So, we signed the offer papers today. I told my agent if he doesn't get this house for us he's fired.
But, that's ok. Everything happens for a reason, right?

Zero's Friday Five
This week, I want to pose a musical question to you. Please visit our free forums and drop by The Singing Harp, have Skeeve play a tune and don't forget to tip Version2PT0. While you're there, share your answers to these five questions. I'll even make a thread for all responses and conversation.
1. What is the first song you think of when I ask you to name a song you can't stand to listen to? 2. What is the first song you think of when I ask you to name a song that is perfect for driving to? 3. If you had to pick (and you do), what album would you nominate to be crowned the greatest album ever? 4. Complete this statement: "Ziggy Stardust is to David Bowie as..." 5. What is the first song you think of when I ask you to name a song that makes you horny?
Yeah... I know. I said "horny". Shame on me. Now, please share your answers, thoughts and opinions in The Singing Harp. I'm off to post my responses now... and I'm not wearing any pants.

Waiting
Post-midnight light Floods through the barred window, Gleaming dancingly off the cold table. More menacing than the moon-pale light, though, Is shadow; It hides, obscures, and imagination breathes deeply, Whilst illumination suffocates. Mind, as much in wakened thought As is body in leather bound, Is enthralled by the dark possibility, And imagined scenes thunder through it As the tiny toes of mice skitter through the silent, waiting emptiness.

Sorry.
I was hoping to make last night my triumphant return, but nothing came together as expected. Lots going on in the Wizard's house tho, so there may be something in the future Mondays. Thanks to Bliss and Zero for picking up the slack a bit. You guys rock my front page blog world.
See ya in 7. Hopefully with more content.
