Welcome to the end of the line...
Hell weeks are over and the new is beginning. Things are likely to be a bit spotty for awhile still. We've lost a blogger on the main pages and it's down to Zung and I. If you'd like to contribute, let us know, but for now, I'm signing off, as I'm exhausted from the first day at the new job. Fun, but VERY busy!

It's quiet without the internet
I'm blogging early this week, for fear that I will have no internet (or cable tv) when I get home today. I don't have much to say, except that the tranquil feeling I had when I posted last Saturday about moving has completely left me. I'm quite stressed out and anxious. This move may be the last move for possibly the rest of my life. No, I'm not dying. Just thinking of the certain probability that Kate will inherit this house from her parents. It's been discussed. Will we be happy there? I have no idea, and it's scares me. Upon closer inspection last night, we've discovered that the apartment needs ALOT of work. It's an old house. The woodwork is beautiful, but the windows, wiring, light fixtures, and other stuff is awful.

I think we're in for a bumpy ride.

This is Lt. Zung, last surviving member of the Starship Cottage, signing off...

Hell week part Deux!
Well, ok, this week is not nearly so hellish.

So far, so good...

I have one more day to worry about teaching and that's this friday. I'm then done and starting my new job at Skidmore!

I'm soooo excited! I can't wait!

So, I didn't get my new car, but that's ok. I can wait a bit.

I'm off tomorrow. Be good and have fun. Hold tight for the next few weeks as things settle in for Zung in his new place and me in my new job. After that it should be smooth sailing!

Movin' movin' moving!
By this time next weekend, my true love and I will moving into our new apartment. For two years, we've been living in a tiny little cottage in her parent's backyard. It's been nice and quaint, but my life feels like a bonsai plant. Confined to a small space, and not allowed to grow beyond it's borders. Now we've moving into a place with twice the space, but I think it's going to be too much. We have a whole room that we don't even know what to do with yet. I think we're putting a rug in it, but thats all we've thought of so far.

This is the first move (out of 7) that I am not stressed out about. In fact, I'm looking forward to it, even though we haven't even packed a single thing yet. You must think I'm crazy, right? Well, we're actually only moving about 50 feet. It's a two family home (We're even moving to the first floor too, so no stairs!) right across the street from her parents (Now you must really think I'm crazy, living across from her parents, and you'd be right. Have you seen that show "Everyone loves Raymond"? It's just like that). Her parents own that house too, so rent will still be cheap, and the back porch looks out over the hudson river.

So if I'm not around for the next couple weeks, blame the move. We still haven't called the cable company to get our internet installed, so I might actually have to *gasp* read a book or something. I hear they have a sun outside. I'm not supposed to look at it directly, right?

Hell week, part one.
Well, in case anyone has been following, I've been looking for a new job for sometime now. I got one. A great one. And now I'm waiting to start it.

So, this is the first week of my 2 weeks notice.

As much as I'd like to walk out now and start my job, I have to do the right thing and wait.

Well, the week has started out shitty already. The facilities F*cktard has been lazy all day and now, here, at quater to six it's full panic.

Argh...

So, two more weeks.

Two more weeks...

Rain, rain, go away...
So in case you forgot, the first OFFICIAL TKOP MEET is THIS SUNDAY from NOON to SUNDOWN! Scroll down to last friday's entry to find out all about it.

And wouldn't you know it, it's supposed to rain. Never fear however, because the weatherman is usually wrong, and we have a PAVILLION with a roof. Whats more, we'll probably have the whole park to ourselves too.

But in case the rain becomes a downpour, and it soaks our spirits, we might have a backup plan if you all behave nicely. :) So come to the meet anyhow! I will be the first to volunteer to BBQ in the rain! There just might be an indoor dry spot we can migrate to eventually.

BUT WAIT THERES MORE!

Keep poking your head around TKOP late late tonight and early tommorow morning, because we're about to reveal a HUGE CHANGE! No, TKOP is not undergoing a sex change operation, much to Zero's chagrin. We're incorporating brand new features into TKOP, and a brand new look that won't disapoint. Yes, we've made little changes before, but this is the biggest change since we started in Janurary. (But unfortunately, we still do not have a better chat client yet. But we are working on that).

OK, you want a little hint? Part of it involves a Dragon, who used to be red.

So stick around this weekend! Theres lots to see on TKOP Saturday, and lots of people to meet on Sunday!

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!
I'm going to keep this light, just to make sure everyone still see's Zungs previous Blog.

We hope to see EVERYONE at the meet this Sunday! Fun and festivities all day!

-Skeeve

Saturday, August 7

Next Weekend!
Don't forget the TKOP Meet is NEXT WEEKEND! Sunday August 15th at Noon until sunset. It'll be at The Crossings Park in Colonie, NY. (Don't get it confused with the Crossings shopping complex in Clifton Park). Here's a link to their "driving directions", and below you'll find their address if you want to Mapquest it yourself.

The Crossings Park
580 Albany Shaker Road
Loudonville, New York 12211
(518) 438-5957

We'll be in the East Pavillion, which is right behind the Playground. Here's a PDF Map of the park. There's Bike Trails and Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash. Here's a list of their Park Rules.

What should you bring?

  • Skeeve, Bliss and I will be providing some amount of food stuff (Burgers, Hot Dogs and Chicken), and some cheap ass generic sodas in a big cooler. There will be a charcol Grill available to heat stuff up. (We will be providing the charcol and lighter fluid).

  • Alcohol is permitted in the Park, but we will not be providing alcoholic drinks. BYOB.

  • We would love it if all those attending brought something to share (salad, chips, cookies, etc...) & whatever they feel like drinking. (Beer, Low carb Soda, etc)

What else?
Well, it's a large park. So all kinds of fun stuff can happen. Bring a Frisbee, or a soccer ball if you'd like! I'll be bringing poker chips and cards.

Check out this forum thread to discuss and questions or concerns.
We hope to see you there!

Around the world in what seems like forever...
Monday and I'm entirely uninspired to rant... Well, that's not entirely true, but I can't really be honest just yet, and posting dishonesties isn't appealing.

All I can ask is that you cross your fingers or ask what powers you talk to for good fortune for me on Wednesday. At 9:30 am.

Aside from that things are going well. Bliss and I are happy and moving toward the wedding date. (And arguing over menus) that seems to take up what little time I have after work.

This week don't expect to see me around in the evenings. I'm night shift all week.

Take care, be happy and healthy!
